Voices multiply in favour of dialogue

The Congress of the Moroccan formation Democratic Way was, this past Saturday, the context in which up to 15 political parties expressed their backing in the search of a dialogued solution to the conflict that confronts this country with the Spanish and French states. Among the signers of the document, in which they urge the parts to commit to the process, there are forces from Europe, Africa and Asia who join the ever longer list of international agents committed to the search for a scenario of a just peace in the Basque Country.

Since the Abertzale Left decided to commit to a unilateral process that allows it to overcome the political blockage that favours the states so much, the necessity of implicating the international community on this path has always been present. And the work developed in this sphere has been of great depth, with achievements so important such as the Declaration of Aiete, or the participation world-renowned figures in the International Contact Group (ICG) or the International Verification Commission (IVC). At the same time political formations and social agents from around the world have been expressing their support to what, just as in the Basque Country, also goes beyond our frontiers and is perceived as a historical opportunity. Significantly, in the way that the international implication has been made more evident, the discomfort of Spanish authorities has been rising, to the point that some institutional representative has lost their composure that they supposedly presume.

The position of those who defend the process of a democratic resolution open in the Basque Country is understood, is respected and is shared on the international scene, precisely because it appeals to democracy and the rational exercise of dialogue. On the contrary of what is proposed by those who seek to stand in the way, their attitude appears incomprehensible in the eyes of the world. This battle is also being won by the people.
